Learn how to play with MIDI

MIDI files are very useful for educational and entertaining purposes such as:

  1. learning to compose

  2. learning how to play the piano

  3. analyzing compositions

  4. making your own ringtones

  5. making your own sheet music

Furthemore with the "rolls" present at kunstderfuge.com you can listen to how great pianists of the past played: just put your .mid files on your keyboard, disklavier or (good) sound card and enjoy the result!

It is believable that a good pianist should record his performances on MIDI support to exactly control his performance: for example MIDI taught me, through the analyzyng of my own touch, the exact way to approach the board with my fingers. Infact, with a very simple sequencers (software for reading MIDI files) you can see all the notes and their values, their dynamics and many other elements. Software for playing MIDI files can be downloaded for free via internet (it's lightweight software usually made available for free).

Also, don't forget that MIDI files are very very light: our entire collection of over 16,000 files is only 80 mbytes - while an 8 minute CD track is the same!!!
